Recent data for the UK shows all time high number of young job seekers

Last week, new numbers of the labour market situation were released for the UK. The number of young job seekers reached 1 mio., an all time high and a further deterioration of a long-standing problem in the country. I have been commenting these numbers on the BBC World Business Report:

Clearly, the situation is likely to worsen even further given the current macroeconomic outlook. But the government can also do a lot to help these young people getting into their first job more rapidly but maintaining training measures and hiring subsidies for businesses.
